The discovery of multiple

The evolution in the abstract oils

In the new oil creations Maurizio Carpanelli, is no longer just the physical component to emerge, but it is the space, that materializes on the canvas in all its three-dimensionality. His previous works in oil were known for their being strongly projecting, getting into the viewer's space. In this case however we are faced with canvas defined "multiple", since they create a continuum between the outside world and the one behind it, in a complex of overlapping and interpenetrating planes. The depth of feeling does not remain pure artistic imagination, but is revealed in front of our eyes in these tangles of strokes that generate infinite number of color beams. The secret of this last result is the experimentation and use of new tools designed by the artist to allow for easier and faster material handling. If before the brush was used to add the color layer upon layer, here a special instrument of plastic distributes oil, smears it and breaks it, creating an electrostatic storm of pure energy in motion. The art does not have to relate to a figurative subject to feel realistic. Instead, it must start from the observation of reality to find the most immediate way in its representation. As our eyes are the meeting point between the outer and the inner world, these canvas visually represent the moment of contact between external inputs and the mind in a not yet codified explosion of energies and forces, before becoming concrete and recognizable forms. The gesture, then, is no longer to be considered as the moment in which it stops the action, but itself becomes the subject that gives life to the atmosphere making it visible. Our moods are involved in this birth of matter and are reflected in the continuous flow of the brush strokes. The colors don't seem to escape from the canvas, but rather join with the surface to develop it and bring it into the third dimension.
